SPLASH!

I'm reminded of this almost every time I watch a soccer game. The diving on the pitch really needs to stop for the credibility of the game to truly remain strong.

I completely agree with you Chad. The officials of the game should be shown a video of blatant diving at the beginning of the season as the referees were in the NHL and be mandated to penalize the diving player/team. Does anyone out there know if there are currently any rules against diving in soccer?

FIFA always has the right to fine and suspend players for diving. It occurs often upon video review, but is not publicized. I think that it is very difficult for a ref to tell if it was a dive or not, as he is often a long way from the foul. Its a difficult game to officiate. FIFA must come up with a solution, and not leave it to the referees.
